What is the starting pay for a Medical biller and coder?

Hello – I’m thinking of going back to school to become a medical biller and coder, but i was wondering if they get paid more than what I’m actually doing now? Which is a Dental Asst.

Hi I am currently working as a medical biller and I can tell you that the pay range depends on a couple of things the state that you work in also what type of billing you are doing. Example working for a Doctors office or a medical group or a hospital. I am attending school to become certified as a coder I am working on getting my CPC and that pays more than both a biller or dental assistant. The starting pay for certified professional coders can be minimum of 19-25 an hour. My suggestion is do your research and do what is best for you. I hope I helped.
