What do you do to stay sane while looking for a job?

I recently graduated with a Coding Certification, but am going back to school to finish up my degree, I am however looking for a full time job and want to go to school part time. I have looked for a coding position for over a month and nothing is happening so I’m looking into other fields. It’s so frustrating, what do you do to keep yourself sane while the job search continues? I’m just sooooo aggraveted!

I would get an internship with coding to pass the time if you’re really into that. Or you could do Medical Billing in the meantime until you finish your degree. They’d love to have you. I do that for a living and they’d SOOO appreciate your skills and knowledge. And like some of the other posts have said since you’re going a little stir crazy try to do some hobbies in the meantime or hang out with friends more often to pass the time. Good luck and you won’t regret going into the field.
I set a goal each day to contact a certain number of places….either by email, online applications, phone, in person etc. Once I have met that goal….I do things I enjoy. At this point I have been out of work looking since March 31. It is tough. Even if I get one call back, email or interview, that keeps me motivated and gives me hope. Looking for a job is a full time job and statistics show that it can take 35-40 hours a week to find a job in 6 months. (of course that depends on what you are looking for and the demand) Keep your chin up. Networking with other people is very important. Join a local club or organization to network. It can be doing something you enjoy and may give you some connections that can help you find the perfect job for you. You will be so surpised at how helpful perfect strangers can be in helping you find a job…..and you will be surprised how many people know somebody, that know’s somebody, that knows…. Good luck!
