Say a medical coding student gets their CPC-A certification in Sept. 2009, what is required of them in 2010?

What would be required of them in 2010 in regards to updating their knowledge/certification? Is it difficult to re-learn this information or is it structured in such a way that makes it easy and not time consuming? How do physicians react to all of this?
