Is there a way to learn medical coding online free. I would like to teach myself if possible. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you in advance.

The problem is to get a medical billing job or medical billing and coding job you’ll need a medical specialist certificate and/or a certificate for medical coding. That is awarded after passing a medical billing exam by an accreditation agency. Online courses start at around $700. Medical billing courses can also be taken on college campuses. They are never offered free but there is money available through the federal government for online degrees. Medical billing and medical coding are two separate areas. Yes, after training you have to undergo test by AHIMA or AHA to get certificate like CPC etc.
