Is it hard to get a job in medical coding or billing with no experience?

I am considering taking the course but do not wish to waste money. I’ve looked on job sites and I do not see many of these positions advertised. Those that are require a minimum of 2 years experience. I have a bachelor’s degree. Will this put me ahead of other applicants?
